Economies of scale are quite significant in manufacturing a customized award.
For example, in the stamping process, setting up the stamping die in the press, adjusting the press and the lathes, preparing the colours and fine-tuning the plating process are specific fixed costs incurred into during the manufacturing process for each series of customized awards.
The larger the series, the lower the fixed cost impact will be.
The minimum order is 30 pieces for a medal of 50mm (2″) diameter and more.
Above this minimum quantity, the decreasing unit price will reflect the economies of scale of the manufacturing process.
Decreasing unit prices are set for 30 pieces, 50 pieces, 100 pieces, 250 pieces, 500 pieces, 1000 pieces, 2500 pieces, 5000 pieces.
Depending on the exact size and shape of the customized award, unit prices vary up to:
- 15 % for series of 30 to 50 pieces.
- 15 % for series of 50 to 100 pieces.
- 7 % for series of 100 to 250 pieces, etc….
And those variations do not include the amortization of the die, which would still drastically decrease the unit price.
So, in order to prepare our best offer for your project, we need to know the amount of items you are considering ordering.
